Northern Ireland joint Sands/RCM Conference

RCM Northern Ireland held their annual Joint Conference with SANDS NI. The event took place in the City Hotel, Derry.

The Keynote speaker, Professor Michael Turner, kicked off the day with a history of bereavement past, present and future in Ireland. The sessions also included Diabetes in Pregnancy, Perinatal and Neonatal Palliative Care along with Professor Mavis Kirkham talking about midwives and burnout in caring for bereaved families.

Northern Ireland also celebrated 100 Years since the Midwives (Ireland) Act had been introduced. This took place at the local church in Derry followed by a reception at the city hall hosted by the Lord Mayor.
