RCM Guildford Branch celebrates MSW Week 2018
By Nick Child, Senior Organiser (Networks) on 13 November 2018 MSWs - Maternity Support Workers
To celebrate all of our maternity support workers we've dedicated a week of regional study days and encouraged branches to host local workplace events to give thanks to our MSWs for all the wonderful work they do in our maternity services.
RCM Guildford Branch hosted a brilliant event at the Royal Surrey County Hospital on day one of MSW Week 2018.
Health and Safety Rep, Katy Lucas said: "We had afternoon tea for the girls and each of them got a RCM goodie bag as well as a personalised thermal mug that we bought. I organised the tea as the practice development facilitator for MSWs and Jemma Harriott as the RCM rep attended. Both Pam Gregory and Sarah Cregeen RCM reps organised the presents. We put RCM MSW bunting up around the unit and gave patients and staff the 'I love my MSWs because...' placards to fill in and the MSWs filled in the 'I love being an MSW because...' placards. The celebrations will continue all week and I have had some wonderful feedback about the girls."
