Join RCM branches at the Virtual Tolpuddle Festival

Today the West Mid Branch held a very successful virtual meeting which was extremely well timed regarding the government press release re pay increases for some public sector workers but not Midwives , MSWs , Nurses etc . Jon Skewes ( RCM Executive Director of External Relations) was able to give both background and also up to date information around the pay deal and what the RCM are doing for us, he has a fantastic blog post on the RCM site (https://www.rcm.org.uk/media-releases/2020/july/give-midwives-and-other-nhs-staff-pay-deal-they-deserve-says-the-rcm/)

Having Jon on our virtual meeting enabled members to ask questions in a live setting, offering reassurance that the RCM are lobbying for  the pay review body planned review to be brought forward and on the back of a three year pay deal that benefits all members. I would urge other branches to welcome Jon to a meeting. The meeting was so successful we even welcomed a new Learning Rep !
