IDM 2020 - Branch celebrations #IDM2020

Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth

A relaxation room that we set up in Bronglais for maternity staff to celebrate IDM. Staff have enjoyed their breaks in this peaceful zone that has massage chairs, a chi foot swinger, mindfulness exercises and crystals which have been lent to us by Local business Mystic Earth. Goodie bags and snacks were available for staff too.

Swansea Bay

Our branch treasurer Mags Birch did the rounds with some thank you treats for IDM2020 celebrations. We are incredibly proud to work alongside the amazing midwives, doctors and healthcare staff at Swansea Bay health board. Everyone has pulled together and worked so hard to support women and families. They all deserved a little treat and a great big thank you for their commitment, passion and hard work. Happy IDM celebrations. We are proud to be part of such an inspiring profession. Cardiff and Vale

All staff joined in the fun whilst maintaining social distances 😊. Cardiff branch was shortlisted for an RCM award and whilst it’s such a shame that events of recent weeks have meant that our teams aren’t able to celebrate being at the RCM awards in London today, they continued to celebrate ‘virtually’ and on site. Special guest Welsh Rugby Star, Jamie Roberts came along to help with the celebrations.🥂👏🏻😍👏🏻🥂Thank you for everything you do, you are all amazing 😍

Powys

Powys RCM branch remains very proactive and innovative with ideas on keeping in touch and celebrating IDM. Branch secretary Suzy Pardoe-Bouchard brought together the team with cakes and a Zoom tea party to help with the celebrations. Powys covers a huge geographical area but this didn't stop the team coming celebrating together. Happy International Day of the Midwife to every single one of this amazing team of midwives in Powys!!

Cwm Taf

There was no stopping Cwm Taf from celebrating International Day of the Midwife! The team went all out with spoiling the staff with gifts, cakes, chocolates and sweets. The maternity unit was decorated with pictures, bunting and colourings everywhere you looked along with an absolutely amazing montage of staff pictures.

Aneurin Bevan Health Board

Celebrating IDM was very different this year. Previously we have put on events and study days for staff which have been hugely popular but this year with social distancing it was different. This didn't stop us marking the occasion though so we made up 130 goody bags to give out to all the staff! Happy International Day of the Midwife!!! 

Betsi Cadwaladr

Betsi Cadwaladr North Wales RCM Branch made bags of tea, coffee, squash, 100 individual wrapped biscuits..... so they’d last longer than a day! 🤣 bottled water, mugs, wellbeing cards, pens & hand sanitizers. They also did a Rainbow 🌈 themed lucky dip of mini torches, pens, inspirational note pads, hand cream and lip slave. Rhyl community team and each hospital area got one….. and of course, we had cup cakes and rainbow fudge…. Which disappeared as quick as the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!!!!
