Thank you to everyone who had their say on pay and voted for their NHS pay rise in Scotland. Our consultation is now closed and RCM members in Scotland have voted to accept the Scottish Government’s 4% pay offer
77% of those who responded to the RCM’s consultation voted to accept the offer of 4% for most staff which will be backdated to December 2020. In addition to the one off £500 pro rata payment which was paid in February 2021.
- Bands 1-4: a flat uplift of £1,009
- Bands 5-7: a 4% uplift
- Bands 8a to 8c: a 2% uplift
- Bands 8d to 9: a flat uplift of £800
The negotiated offer is ‘significant and early’ and meets the asks of the RCM’s ‘Deliver a Decent Deal’ campaign.
Our consultation closed on Monday and today the RCM along with other Scottish Trade Unions met to communicate the individual results from each union’s consultation with their members and overall, the majority of unions and their members have voted to accept the offer.
Our priority now is to see this pay increase in our members pay packets as soon as possible. We will be notifying the Scottish Government that we are accepting this offer on behalf of our members.
We are conscious that you are working extremely hard and have waited long enough so we are calling on the Scottish Government to implement this pay deal as a matter of urgency. We will be also writing to the new Cabinet Secretary asking for this to be done without delay.
