Maternity Support Worker Week

When: 16 to 22 November
Where: In maternity units across the UK

We all know November is the time to celebrate our maternity support workers (MSWs) and, although it’ll be a little bit different this year, we’re ready to take the celebrations online!

There are many ways you can celebrate MSWs this year, including using branch funds to get creative with goodie or pamper packs, holding a virtual workshop, awards ceremony or quiz, or maybe having a virtual tea party. To help you decorate, we’ve got green MSW pens and our latest poster, along with many more items all available to activists to order via storefront.

**Please note that it is important to continue social distancing to ensure the safety of yourselves, colleagues and women. We recommend you do not hold any in person events and include this in any advertisements of your celebrations.

MSW Virtual Festival

When: 23 to 27 November
Where: Virtual webinar or through the RCM app

Also this year we're launching our MSW Virtual Festival! The festival will include sessions on how the RCM can support MSWs in career development through education and training and how we are working towards improving your pay and reward.

There will be 10 virtual sessions across the week themed around our campaign ‘We’ve got your back’, and will cover how we, as a professional body and trade union, support MSWs. These sessions are all free for those who attend, and recordings will be made available to RCM members only.

Although we can’t be together in person, we can meet online and if you use the hashtag #CelebratingMSWs, it’ll be easier to find each other and connect.

If you are an RCM activist and holding an event such as a virtual learning event, recruitment event or any other activity, you can log onto the storefront to order:

• pens,
• recruitment forms,
• RCM promotional items,
• MSW posters and guidance leaflets to promote your local branch and maintain your workplace RCM notice board.

Please note that the storefront is only available to RCM branch officers, workplace representatives and MSW advocates. If you already have an account but have forgotten your password please use the forgotten password link. Do not set up a new account as this will delay you being able to place orders.
